Psychotherapy is offered for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, communication, anger, relationships, boundaries and other life events.
Psychotherapy opens the door to allow a safe space to explore your inner thoughts, feelings and actions in a place that does not carry the burden of judgement.
Psychotherapy sessions are offered for couples seeking to enrich their relationship, build trust and communication, work through trauma/crisis and engage in meaningful conversation.
In a session, you are invited to work through the most hurtful problems with the hope that, in the end, there will be real solutions, healing and progress. We don't advocate for "bandaid" solutions.
Psychotherapy sessions are offered for families to engage in meaningful conversations and discover change in a safe environment.
Families are encouraged to engage in conversation concerning grief, gender identity, divorce and behaviour issues, among other life events. All families are unique in their dynamics, and sometimes having an objective third party allows for there to be open, honest dialogue.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989).
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
Shapiro’s (2001) Adaptive Information Processing model posits that EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution.
After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced.
The RMHA approach includes 2 introduction meetings so the therapist can take the time to understand the nature of your difficulties and to assess whether the EMDR may be an appropriate treatment. Each EMDR session is between 60-90 minutes and can be used in parallel to regular psychotherapy practices.

"Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as a part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate” (Canadian Art Therapy Association, 2017).
Art therapy is a fluid and individualized process. Experience with art or art materials is not required.
