Deborah Black

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I strive to be the person that listens and supports you through exploring the many layers that make our circumstances unique. I offer a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment that supports clients in feeling secure when examining their thoughts and emotions. I have a strong background in working with diverse populations in addition to persons grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relational challenges, and developmental disabilities. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, which incorporates the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects to promote overall well-being.

I offer individual and couples sessions to youth (13-17) and adults (18+). Within my therapy approach, I employ evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and narrative therapy, from a person-centred approach. All are aimed at helping clients gain a clear understanding of their struggles and cultivate adaptive coping skills that will affect positive changes in their lives.

As a group facilitator, I have experience establishing a nurturing and collaborative environment, encouraging individuals to connect with others with similar experiences. I believe in the influence of collective dynamics and the healing capacity of shared stories and support.

If you are looking for an empathetic individual who can guide you on your path toward personal development and healing, allow me to share in the process with you.
