Deborah Black
Deborah strives to be the person who listens and supports you through exploring the many layers that makes one’s circumstances unique. Deborah offers a welcoming, non-judgemental environment to provide client’s with a sense of security when exploring their thoughts and emotions.
Deborah is finishing her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Alongside her education, Deborah has a strong background in working with diverse populations, in addition to persons grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relational challenges, and developmental disabilities.
Deborah believes in a holistic approach to therapy, which incorporates the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects that can affect one’s experiences. To help clients gain a clear understanding of their struggles and cultivate adaptive coping skills, Deborah utilizes a person-centred approach supported by evidence-based techniques (i.e., cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and narrative therapy). Deborah offers individual and couples sessions to youth (13-17) and adults (18+).
